Arnold’s Celebrates 30 Years! | Southwest Tulsa Chamber

February 29 is a rare day, not just because of leap year but because it marks the day when Happy Days became a reality in Southwest Tulsa! Frank Arnold began serving hot dogs as a teenager at Carl’s Coney Island in Crystal City. Then after owning his own Coney Island, he and his lovely wife Vicki opened their 50’s style diner now located just West of Union Avenue on West 51st Street. They serve literally thousands of food items each day to people lined up at the counter and in the drive through lane under the canopy.
The Arnolds’ commitment to value and quality in a rare combination has meant success for them and for their satisfied customers who sometimes leave downtown workplaces to sit and enjoy a fresh hamburger–made to order–with a side of french fries or onion rings. The consistency of the quality is matched by the cleanliness of the dining room which is bussed personally by Mrs. Arnold.
Employees enjoy an understanding boss and the loyal advocate they need if things go wrong. Frank has been known to pick up an employee on his way to work so that they could make their shift.
Prices will return to unheard of levels on February 29th as the Mayor, County Commissioner, City Council Chair and the Southwest Tulsa Chamber are all on hand to celebrate.
Expect a lot of company as the crowds gather to eat their favorite “Old-Fashioned Hamburger.”
Somehow it seems like only last year that they were celebrated as the Southwest Tulsa Chamber Business of the Year…oh, they were!
